Japan's Premium Charcoal: Binchotan
WHITE COAL is produced according to the Japanese model and is especially used for dishes such as Yakitori (Japanese grilled meat skewers). White Coal, or Binchotan, is carbonized at over 1200 °C to expel all gases, resulting in a purity that is unparalleled. Binchotan has a longer burning time than regular charcoal and is absolutely odorless. The sound is glassy to metallic, and its appearance is silvery glossy to white. Our White Coal is packaged in an elegant, black velvet bag. Truly something special!

This ensures that the charcoal contains no potentially carcinogenic substances. As everyone knows, the Japanese are an extremely healthy people, and this is reflected in their charcoal.
No flames
Binchotan premium charcoal burns without flames, with a very steady glow, and releases consistent heat.
Constant Heat
Due to its high-quality carbonization, Binchotan burns with a clean, consistent heat.
Smokeless & Odorless
Due to its purity and the gases already expelled, WHITE COAL burns absolutely smokeless and odorless.
Metallic Sound
Characteristic features also include its very high carbon content of over 90%, the metallic sound of the charcoal, and the white color of its bark.
Exclusive Japanese Charcoal
Binchotan has been used in Japan for over 1,000 years and is characterized by its absolute purity and a deep red, absolutely calm glow, which gives food a very special touch thanks to its special infrared radiation.
Not only the sound of the charcoal underscores its purity, but also the fact that Binchotan smokes absolutely zero. Even when fat drips onto the embers, no flames are visible, only white steam. Activated Binchotan charcoal is one of the best air & water filters, which are increasingly finding their way into the Western world. Anyone who grills with Binchotan can be sure they are using the best for themselves and their food!
Traditional Japanese Charcoal
Binchotan is deeply rooted in Japanese culture and is primarily used for the traditional preparation of yakitori – grilled meat skewers with a savory sauce (tareyaki) made from mirin, soy sauce, and sugar – as well as for sakan dishes. The exquisite charcoal is also popular for grilling in a shichirin, hibachi, or konro, a small charcoal grill. Beyond Japan's borders, white charcoal has also made a name for itself in fine dining. Binchotan positively influences aromas – one reason why it is also used for preparing exquisite meats like Wagyu beef.
