Best Fuel from McBrikett
Thanks to very high-quality raw materials, higher carbonization temperatures and finer granulation, as well as an improved pressing process, our briquettes have a clear quality advantage. For processing, we primarily use an extruder press, which builds up high pressure to strongly compact the briquettes.
The pressed particles in our briquettes are very small and the end product is consistently sized, which ensures the best possible burning time and stability. We also prevent the briquettes from crumbling or breaking through our high-quality packaging: in the particularly sturdy boxes, the charcoal is easy to transport and stack.
The charring process: this is how our KOKOKO BRIQUETTES are made
To produce something truly good, you need excellent raw material. The hard shells of a coconut meet this requirement.
It naturally contains more energy than oak or beech wood. Compared to wood, whose branches and trunks vary in thickness, refining 2 mm thin shells is much more precise and uniform. This results in our coconut charcoal always having a purity level of an impressive 80-85% carbon.

The high-quality raw material is then further refined; in our case, the shells are carbonized. The fact that coconut shells are always of the same thickness (or thinness) makes the outgassing, also known as carbonization, fast, precise, and consistently high-quality.
Compression is the next area where our coconut charcoal excels. To achieve even longer burning times, it is necessary to highly compact the charcoal. This is only possible to a very limited extent with a normal briquette press. We use an extruder press for pressing, which builds up much higher pressure. This results in the KOKOKO grill briquettes being highly compressed. You can find more on this topic and other background information in our Charcoal Guide.
Demonstrably better than the standard: on the purity of our briquettes
To offer consumers the best possible quality and transparency, there are also standards and norms for charcoal.

For charcoal and briquettes, this is the European standard DIN EN 1860-2. This specifies a carbon content of more than 65% and an ash content of less than 15%. We had KOKOKO and BAMBUKO tested by a recognized German institute (ASG Analytik). We are particularly proud of the results, as the test values for carbon content and ash far exceed the requirements of the standard!

Our Charcoal in a Long-Term Burn Test
We subjected our grilling charcoal to long-term tests to see how efficient it is. Each test was performed multiple times for control purposes.
All tests were conducted in an empty 57 cm kettle grill with a log thermometer. The focus of the experiments was on burn time and not maximum heat, so the air supply in the kettle grill was reduced accordingly. The results even surprised us, in a positive sense, of course. But it's best to see for yourself what great performance you can get from our grilling charcoal.
