We verify incoming reviews using the following mechanisms:

Manual verification mechanisms:

• Exclusive manual verification: Every incoming review is manually reviewed and verified by us. We check the content of the review for logical inconsistencies and other anomalies.
• Manual spot checks: We also carry out spot checks of individual comments, which have not been pre-filtered in any other way, according to the same standards.

All reviews filtered out [or reported] in this way are subjected to a general plausibility check by our team [as well as reviewed against our review policy].

For the plausibility check, we consider the customer's entire review behavior and also examine the content and metadata (e.g., IP address, device ID, date) of the review. We check whether the purchase and review of the product are in a temporal and spatial relationship to each other and whether there are substantive contradictions. In doing so, we investigate whether the customer has actually used the product.

• Example: A customer submits a review for the product one day before the goods were delivered, or claims to have been using it for a month, even though the purchase was only a week ago.

Example: A DVD is reviewed with the sentence: "I don't like the color and finish of the shoe."

The content of the reviews indicates that the review cannot match the product being reviewed.

We then try to contact the authors of such unusual reviews to verify the statements in their review if necessary. If the circumstances are clarified, the review will be adjusted accordingly. If the circumstances for submitting the review remain too vague and unclear, the corresponding review will remain filtered out. It will not be displayed further or published at all.
